At most spas, if you're late, you lose - spas often can't push your appointment back more than 10 minutes. Need an incentive to arrive on time? Here at Phiz Spa take advantage of our serene Tranquility Room with a cup of tea or water while you wait.
As usual it is encouraged that you give us as much notice as possible when having to change or cancel your services. Day before cancellations are subject to a fee of 50% of your service(s). Day-of or NO SHOWs are a charge IN FULL. Service providers everywhere are no longer in a position to make exceptions to these policies and hope you're able to understand that when booking. For the fastest way to cancel, feel free to go online to do it, otherwise text as soon as you can to 503.400.2424 to let us know your scheduling needs.
Your cell phone should be turned to silent while in the spa; using it is a huge no-no. Better yet, leave it at home and make Miss Manners proud. As a courtesy to others getting services, please keep conversations in a soft tone.
Nudity is probably the aspect of spa-going that causes guests the most anxiety. Let's be honest--baring it all to someone you've just met can feel awkward. But keep in mind that our therapists go to great lengths to maintain guest modesty. If you're uncomfortable about being in the buff, it's perfectly okay to wear underwear or our disposable undergarments during your service.
Leaving 15 to 20 percent is customary. However, it’s also normal to tip as you would in a restaurant. Receiving services from more than one therapist? It's best to leave a separate tip for each one.
If you have any type of medical condition, you need to mention it to your technician, preferably when you book your appointment. Certain treatments may not be advisable for you. All other slight conditions will be discussed as you fill out your consultation form at the beginning of your service.
On the day of treatment, try not to eat for at least an hour before a treatment, and avoid the consumption of alcohol on the day of a body treatment. Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment. Certain services might require you to stay out of the sun as well. Also, don't schedule a physically demanding endeavor after a spa appointment. Keep that relaxed feeling you enjoyed long after you leave!
A spa is a great place to get a little alone time, so it's best to not to bring children under 16. If children are with you, be attentive to their safety as well as their impact on the comfort and relaxation of others. If nothing else, check with your technician first.
If you plan on shaving prior to a treatment (as is advised for men receiving facials), do so at least two hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid any skin irritation.
All aspects of our treatments can be modified to your taste: lighting, music, room temperature, talking or no talking. If you would like for the pressure of your massage to be adjusted, let your therapist know. Also, feel free to ask questions. If any part of your experience is unsatisfactory, first tell the therapist. If the response isn't helpful, please contact Erin Molyneaux, owner of the spa.
When available, advanced booking - by phone or online booking - will likely minimize your wait time and ensure that you get the date and time that fits your schedule best.
